Akismet does a great job stopping spam…I probably have to go through every three or four days to delete 100 or so spam comments. And I’m a very low-traffic blog. I can only imagine what the big guys get. Anyway. Anytime I feel worthless, I can just go look through the spam comments, because in addition to all the links for viagra and cialis and porn, most of them include a wonderful, if vaguely Yoda-inflected compliment for my blog! So I thought I’d show a little appreciation for these spirit-lifting spam comments:

• “Good site you done here,man.” – Aw, thanks,man.
• “Thank you very much, for this site!” – You’re very welcome!
• “You did this great job here!” – I’m going to assume you mean on my blog, though “job” is perhaps a little vague in this context.
• “Nice good site,dont let it go away.” – Ill do my best.
• “Nice webpage, lovely,coolest design.” – Coolest? Really? Compared with this or this or this or this, or even this? Wow!
• “Everybody loves your guestbook,so do i.” – Um. Okay. That would be everybody from, like, the Web of 1997, then?
• “Really nice interesting site. thank you for it.” – You’re welcome, you really nice interesting spammer.
• “Good website and nice content. Thank you master!!!” – Oo-kay, now we’re a little over the top, don’t you think?
• “My dear web designer, it is nice.” – My dear spammer, so is it. For future reference, “it” could use a referent.
• “Very interesting site. Hope it will always be alive!” – Ooooh, me too!
• “I think it was best site i ever visit.” – Dude, you need to get out more. You’re obviously foreign, so we won’t get into the article thing and the past tense thing.
• “Wow , can’t forget this best design.” – *points up at design links* But thanks!
• “All good stuff here, on your page!” – Well, if it weren’t good, I wouldn’t have put it up. ;)
• “Hello , it is cool amazing page!” – Hello! Cool amazing? Both! Awesome!
• “Thank you for your work!” – You’re welcome!
• “I never visit this site before.” – … Well, at least you’re honest.
• “It is the coolest site,keep so!” – Will so, thanks!
• “I want to thank your page,it good!” – I will pass along your message to my page. I’m sure it will be very grateful for the praise.
