Latin? Hm. This should be…interesting. Are we going to get fake Latino/a accents? Oh, but we’re going to get J-Lo. I hope they take her advice re passion. I’m not a huge J-Lo fan, but I think she’s got that right, and if they don’t make us feel it, it didn’t work.

Melinda Doolittle
song: Sway

She may not look traditionally sexy, but she’s definitely got it in her voice. I wouldn’t say it was her best performance, but then, there’s a lot of competition for that, because she’s always amazing. Very solid, though, yeah. Hee! She’s glad that Simon had the chance to say something negative about her. That made my night.

LaKisha Jones
song: Conga

Hee. Okay, I’m still not a J-Lo fan, but the coaching segments are fun tonight. Let’s have dance lessons! That was enjoyable…fun, upbeat, she got all the words in. :)

Chris Richardson
song: Smooth
original performer: Santana with Rob Thomas

I like Chris more all the time. I’m not sure this was my favorite performance by him, but it was still hot. The vocal was a bit shaky in a couple of places, but the performance was spot on.

Haley Scarnato
song: Turn the Beat Around

The song was a bit big for her, I think. Simon’s right, she is outclassed at this point. I still like her, though, and I like her more than Sanjaya and Phil. That’s the only thing. But yeah, song choice was a definite negative for her here.

Phil Stacey
song: Maria, Maria

Speaking of Phil. Yeah, still liking him less and less. JLo, he didn’t give me goosebumps. He gave me NEGATIVE goosebumps.

Jordin Sparks
song:

Now, that was wow. That’s what I’m talkin’ about. She had fun, her voice is outstanding, and she had the exact right vibe. Loved it.

Blake Lewis
song: I Need to Know

Here’s my math I was working on earlier: Blake=sexy. Latin=sexy. Blake+Latin=soopersexy. Yep, the math works. Chills, meet spine. Floor, meet me melting. Thank goodness there’s a commercial to allow me to recover before I have to listen to Sanjaya.

Sanjaya Malakar
song:

Well, it didn’t suck. Smart choice for him, I’ll grant him that. The Spanish part was way better than the English part, though. But then, Spanish is inherently more sexy than English.

Best tonight: BLAKE!!! And Jordin and Chris.
Bottom three: Haley, Phil, Sanjaya. I hope Sanjaya goes, but it’s more likely Haley will.

  • Jennifer - Yeah, Haley was just a sentimental choice for me. Really, I'm with you...Sanjaya just needs to go. It's just becoming a joke now.

April - I don't think he'll win...as the competition gets narrower, I think more people will vote for actual good people. I mean, are the people who voted for Gina or Haley or Chris Sligh going to switch to Sanjaya? I doubt it. If I had to pick my winner right now, I think honestly it would be Jordin. Melinda doesn't need it, she's a professional anyway and will have a contract no matter what, and Blake and Chris are TEH HOTNESS, but their performance skills are better than their actual vocals.
  • Ugh! I think Sanjaya is going to win just to make AI look bad. I want Melinda to just go make a record. Phil annoys me. Haley is just not good enough but very cute. I really like Mr. Beat boxer, but I don't think he will win.
  • Once again I didn't get to watch the show. Tuesday nights are just too hard for me to watch tv. But I have read some of the buzz on the web and heard NPR, of all things, talking about Sanjaya yesterday. It looks like the critics are picking Haley to go. I would have booted her 2 weeks ago, so I tend to agree it's time. However, if I could do anything to get rid of Sanjaya, I would.
