Here’s for the inaugural Music Monday post! (And yes, it is still Monday.) Yet another thing for me to start and then fail to keep up. But let’s not start fatalistic, shall we?

Today I have two songs that I snagged from a new mp3blog that I found this week called Fabulist! I seriously went down the front page and loved every song on it. That’s rare for me, so Fabulist! immediately went in my bookmarks and in my blogroll.

I’ve never heard of Lavendar Diamond before, but this song is so infectiously peppy, I don’t think I could listen to it without smiling.

Gary Lightbody is the lead singer for Snow Patrol; in addition to the occasional duet and solo song, he also does side projects with the band The Reindeer Section. Anything he does is worth listening to for me.

And here are two songs off the Rilo Kiley album Take-Offs & Landings, which I bought in Austin about four months ago and have had very near my CD player ever since. It’s not a new album by any means, but I was far too late in coming to the Rilo Kiley-love. Incidently, “Wires and Waves” is perfect walking tempo music–I put it on repeat when pretending to exercise and it works great!

Imagine my delight when I found that Rilo Kiley’s frontwoman Jenny Lewis has her own CD out! Well, I broke my “must be $10 or less” CD-buying rule, that’s how delighted I was. I just love her voice so much.
