Yeah, I really liked him, too. He wasn’t overly rockish; not as much rock as the one guy last night that had the fauxhawk going on. But his voice was really good. I was worried after the first couple of audition shows that we weren’t going to get anyone interesting at all! But a few have started to pop out that I’m looking forward to seeing again.

You’re right, I’ve noticed that too. I still haven’t figured out how Simon distinguishes between the old-school/jazz singers he likes and the ones he doesn’t. Anyway. I love jazz, so every time someone gets up and does Ella Fitzgerald or Etta James or Gershwin or Aretha Franklin, I get all excited and hope they get through. But if they’re all like that, even I might get bored.

I just hope they follow through on the rumors I’ve heard about using instruments during the show at some point.
