Criterion in August

cc-all that jazz

The Criterion Collection just announced their August titles. My pick is 1979′s All That Jazz, a thinly veiled autobiographical picture of director/choreographer Bob Fosse. Fosse is one of the greatest choreographers EVAR, and All that Jazz is his 8 1/2. Actually, I like it better than 8 1/2.

Other releases (the Y Tu Mama Tambien art isn’t the Criterion cover; they haven’t updated it yet, so this is the theatrical poster):

cc-love streams  cc-tie me up tie me down  cc-vengeance is mine  cc-y tu mama tambien

I like these announcements yet, nothing compares to the announcement of….. FINALLY!!!!! Y Tu Mama Tambien is coming to Criterion. I’ve been waiting for years about that one. Fuck yeah!!! I want the rest as well as I hope the inclusion of Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down starts the first in a series of Criterion releases of the films of Pedro Almodovar.

I also love Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! If we got All About My Mother in the Collection, I’d be a really happy camper.

That would be awesome as I think that, Talk to Her, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, and Volver should be included.
