Alright folks. Time to get the Top 12. You know, on Australian Idol, they leave the voting lines open until like halfway through the results show. None of this two hours crap. You get nearly twenty-four hours. Of course, then the temptation is to sit up all night and run up your text-messaging bill voting. Not that, you know, I would do that. I’m just saying. I don’t know why I brought that up, except that it would be neat to include the less-pressured group sings in your decision-making.
Elims after the jump.
LaKisha and Blake on stage. And they’re both through. Woohoo!
Chris Sligh. And….we’ll find out after the break. Urgh. Okay, back. And…yes, he’s through! Yay!
Jordin. Yep, she’s in. Good!
Phil. Sorta weak last night, but the previous weeks weren’t bad… And he made it. Cool.
Jared. And he’s going home. Aww. But, but…the hotness!!! And I liked him a lot last night!
Melinda and Brandon. Ooh. Melinda I’m sure is safe, not sure about Brandon. But they’re both through. Nice. Brandon needs to step it up a tad, though.
Gina and Chris Richardson. *fingers crossed* Both through! Yayness!
Performance break: Carrie Underwood! I’d like to actually watch Season Four at some point. I saw most of the auditions, liked Carrie from them, and then didn’t watch any of the competition. Geez, if I’d known I could get a job playing the violin like that with Carrie Underwood, I wouldn’t have let the violin fall by the wayside. I mean, I could randomly scrape the bow across the strings like that! I just couldn’t do vibrato, and I don’t think he ever did any of that.
Another commercial for Drive that just says “Coming Soon.” Dudes, Nathan Fillion is in it, and I want to know when it starts! Okay, Fox’s website says it’s premiering April 15th and 16th. What a weird time of year for a show to premiere. But then, Fox has been pushing the envelope when it comes to unusual scheduling, so I should really expect it of them by now.
Antonella and Stephanie. And Antonella is gone, Stephanie is through. That’s really as it should be. Except now Antonella is going to sing, and she’s going to cry while she’s singing, and it’s going to be horrid. At least she was able to keep singing.
Haley and Sabrina. Here we go. I expect Haley to leave, but I like her so much more than I like Sabrina. OMG! I WIN AT LIFE! I’m sorry, Sabrina is a really good singer, but she has a personality disconnect for me. And apparently, for other people, too.
Wow, I like the charity thing. Of course, it’d be nice to know how much money Fox and Ford are going to donate for every vote cast. I’d predict about 40-45million votes by that time. And nice line-up of guest talent, too…I guess American Idol really has achieved recognition in the music industry.
Sanjaya and Sundance. I would’ve sent them both home after last night. Sundance at least had one good performance, whereas Sanjaya has been weak throughout. OTOH, I like Sanjaya better than I like Sundance, personality-wise. Sundance is gone. So I guess I’m happy. But Sanjaya has really coasted through on…I don’t know what, really. He should’ve been gone last week. But Sundance has not been making me happy, so.
I’m relatively happy with the Top Twelve. I would’ve kept Jared instead of Sanjaya. Other than that, I’m pleased. And I wish Leslie from last week would’ve stuck around, but I don’t know who I would’ve switched for her.
