I’m late tonight because I went out for a friend’s birthday. ‘Cause friends are better even than American Idol.
Anyone else think that the songwriting contest could be a total disaster?
Ooh, Michael Buble. That’s actually probably better than Tony Bennett. Nothing against Tony, but he’s getting up there, you know. (And I never liked him as much as Sinatra, anyway. But Sinatra’s kinda dead, so and AI performance is out.) Although, what is Buble doing up there by the band? Sort of half-dancing, half-conducting? He shouldn’t do that.
Groups of three tonight, eh?
Results talk after the jump.
First group (Blake, Chris, Sanjaya) is safe. Betcha anything.
Haley, Gina, Phil. Betcha this is the bottom three.
Jordin, Melinda, LaKisha. They’re safe. I bet. Yep, I’m right. Yay!
And yep, the boys are safe. Yay except for Sanjaya. (I’m really being mean to him. I really don’t dislike him, I just dislike him continuing to beat out better performers.)
So the bottom is Haley, Gina, and Phil. I’d vote Phil out. I don’t want Haley to go yet, but I do agree that this is the bottom three of last night, leaving Sanjaya out of the equation, because honestly, Sanjaya is no longer in any rational equation.
And Phil is safe. Pfffft. Down to Haley and Gina. And…Haley is staying. Gina is going. Aw. I did like Gina, too. But I kept forgetting she was there. And apparently I’m not the only one. They should not make them sing when they get voted off. Either they deserved to stay and thus the song is too emotional, or they totally sucked and nobody wants to hear them butcher the thing again. Or, sometimes they totally sucked and they still get too emotional. Although, this song is really appropriate, isn’t it? “Smile, though your heart is aching…”
