So now we make up for being extra-nice last week by being extra-mean this week.
What is Simon doing to Paula? Geez. Yay Blake! Ryan, don’t launch into impromptu song and dance numbers when you’re interviewing people. It doesn’t work. There is absolutely no reason for tonight’s show to be an hour long. We have not only a recap of last night’s performances, but also of the entire Idol Gives Back Show. Which wasn’t really, like, that good, except for Kelly Clarkson. And maybe Jack Black.
Oh, and now we have another random performance by someone who has nothing to do with anything. Who can’t sing. I’m sorry, I should be in a good mood, given that I just turned in my last major paper of the semester. Is Fantasia reading the same teleprompter as Reuben did? Yeah, I’m pretty sure she did. They should switch that up.
Jon Bon Jovi reminds me of Roger from RENT. That’s probably a backwards reference, but hey. Oh, hey, they gave Taylor a different teleprompter script.
Results after the cut.
Next week…did he say boogie sounds? So that’s, what, big band? Awesome! I love big band. But they’ve already done American Songbook, so interesting choice of theme.
Melinda, Phil, and LaKisha are down center. Well, that pretty much blows our chances of losing both Phil and LaKisha. Melinda is safe. Yay! No surprise there. Between Phil and LaKisha…LaKisha is safe, and Phil is gone! I’m glad…he’s been on borrowed time for weeks. They’re not using Daughtry’s “Home” anymore for the videos? Is this Carrie Underwood? Sounds like a country person, but my country knowledge sucks. Heh. At least he picked a dynamite getting-kicked-off song–”I’m going down in a blaze of glory.”
Lakisha’s safeness bodes really ill for Chris Richardson, though. I honestly think it’s fairly amazing that LaKisha, Melinda, and Jordin haven’t split the diva vote yet. Apparently there are a lot of people voting for the divas this year.
Yay, Jordin is safe! Thank you, Ryan, for at least having the good grace not to make her squirm. Between having to wait the entire show last week and having a bad time of it last night, that would’ve been unkind. Of course, Blake and Chris have to wait. Blake will be safe. Last night was SO AWESOME for him. Did I happen to mention that already? Well, it was.
So. Blake and Chris. And yep, Chris is going home. *pout* But if it comes down to Chris vs. Blake, it’s Blake all the way. Oh, and there’s Daughtry. I guess they just didn’t want to play it for both exits. That makes sense. And at least Chris did a good song last night, so I’m not disappointed with having to hear it again.
