Carnival of Souls on hulu

October 10th, 2008 |

Just noticed that Herk Harvey’s 1962 cult classic Carnival of Souls is available in its entirety on hulu. Consider this my contribution to any horror-themed October shenanigans. Because I don’t really get into horror-themed October shenanigans that much, although I am going to try to spend some time month catching up on some classic horror I’ve managed to miss. You know, like Night of the Living Dead. As an example. Oh, while we’re on the subject of hulu, they just put up Richard Linklater’s Slacker. I totally would’ve scooped everyone online if I’d posted it when I first saw it this morning, but by the time I got around to it, Slashfilm, SpoutBlog, and Anne Thompson had already beat me. That’ll teach me to procrastinate.

First, how have just discovered hulu? It's humazing.

Second, I remember you saying you were going to watch Kath & Kim. Did you and what did you think? (a preview of the possible conversation, I'm pleasantly surprised).

Third. NIght of the Living Dead? Is Jandy going to voluntarily watch a zombie movie?!? Whuuuuut. It's classic: not only in terms of the undead but in horror as social commentary. We'll have to do a recap after that one.

    Miss you.

First, I could not tell you. Hulu is awesome. I pretty much have it open constantly now.

Second, I did not watch Kath & Kim. It conflicted with other stuff. BUT. It is on hulu. :) So I still might try it out, even though I've been hearing mostly negative things. But if you were pleasantly surprised...

Third, yes, I know. I'm working through my zombie issues. There might be therapy involved. Or there might not. Incidentally, you would be in heaven if you were out here right now. The local repertory cinema is doing all horror all month long, everything from Val Lewton's 1940s horror-dramas to classic J-horror (including Kwaidan) to late-night zombie fests. Here, I'll just link you: http://www.silentmovietheatre.com.

Miss you, too. How's everything going?
