{"id":36498,"date":"2016-11-27T19:02:43","date_gmt":"2016-11-28T03:02:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.the-frame.com\/?p=36498"},"modified":"2016-11-27T19:08:09","modified_gmt":"2016-11-28T03:08:09","slug":"challenge-week-45-triangle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.the-frame.com\/blog\/2016\/11\/challenge-week-45-triangle\/","title":{"rendered":"Challenge Week 45: Triangle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I can&#8217;t talk TOO much about this without spoiling it &#8211; in this case, it&#8217;s very much recommended to go in totally blind, which I did, aside from knowing that it was something of a mindbender and had some horror and possibly sci-fi elements.<\/p>\n<p>It all hinges on a young woman on a yachting trip with some acquaintances who ends up in some very unusual, confusing, and horrifying circumstances. It kept me guessing and trying to figure out what was really going on throughout, and it did a good job of laying clues and following up on them later. Every time I thought I had a handle on it (and thought the lead character did, too), it turned out to have another layer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.the-frame.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/tf-look-out.jpg\" alt=\"tf-look-out\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-36557\" data-wp-pid=\"36557\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.the-frame.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/tf-look-out.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.the-frame.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/tf-look-out-192x128.jpg 192w, https:\/\/www.the-frame.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/tf-look-out-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>There are some very memorable individual shots (the most devastating involves Sally &#8211; people who&#8217;ve seen it will know what I mean), and a lot of genuinely creepy atmosphere. Abandoned old luxury ships for the win. The mystery was ultimately grounded in an emotional crisis, too, and that&#8217;s a strong foundation for me when mindbenders threaten to become too clever and cerebral.<\/p>\n<p>I will say I wasn&#8217;t totally sure how a few of the elements fit into the final explanation, but it left far fewer holes than you&#8217;d expect for a film like this.
