Of all the releases this week, I&#8217;d recommend <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0813715\/\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Heroes<\/i><\/a> Season 1.  It was one of the best new shows last year, following a disparate group of individuals who discover they have superhuman powers.  <i>Heroes<\/i> may have had a plot hole or two, but it more than made up for it with its intricate storytelling and impressive ensemble cast.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"400\" height=\"326\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/MBwEd_g62Hk\"><\/param><param name=\"wmode\" value=\"transparent\"><\/param><\/object><\/p>\n<p>This is the first week I&#8217;ve done a DVD Pick of the Week, so I&#8217;ll also point out that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0805669\/\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Ugly Betty<\/i><\/a> Season 1 came out last week; <i>Ugly Betty<\/i> was my favorite new show last year, hands down.  <i>Heroes<\/i> was a close second, but <i>Ugly Betty<\/i> is pure and delicious fun every second.<\/p>\n<p>Other new releases this week, none of which I&#8217;ve seen, so I&#8217;m ordering them based on how much I&#8217;d like to see them:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0758745\/\" target=\"_blank\">Friday Night Lights<\/a><\/i> Season One (people I respect keep saying how good this is, but I&#8217;ve never tried it)<\/li>\n<li><i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0471030\/\" target=\"_blank\">Red Road<\/a><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0756729\/\" target=\"_blank\">Year of the Dog<\/a><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0445934\/\" target=\"_blank\">Blades of Glory<\/a><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0499537\/\" target=\"_blank\">Offside<\/a><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0772178\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kickin&#8217; It Old Skool<\/a><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With less than a month before the fall TV season starts, most of the studios are releasing the DVD sets of last year&#8217;s seasons&#8211;just in time for people to catch up.
