Grey’s Anatomy (spoilers) & The Office (not really spoilers)

Okay, Grey’s is seriously killing me here. I may have to stop watching (after next week, of course!) so I can get them all in one dose again. ‘Cause this waiting a week between episodes? BLOWS.

What exactly is Meredith’s issue at this point in time? I mean, not the freezing in Seattle’s bay, but the reason she didn’t swim out? She seemed to go under on purpose. And I still love Izzie. And Alex is growing on me every episode. And I would TOTALLY notice if Addison weren’t there.

And The Office tonight was directed by Joss Whedon! aka He Who Created Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And it was awesome. There was more heart than usual, even from Michael. And there was, yep, a vampire motif. I *heart* Jim. But Pam and Roy back together? *thunk* Jim? Pam? Constantly dating other people when we all know you need to be together? Not conducive to my personal happiness.

  1. Jandy,
You have such good tv taste. You like all the shows I like! I haven’t watched last night’s Grey episode, yet, though. I don’t dislike Meredith and McDreamy the way you do, though. But, I do agree with most of your other character evaluations. I’ll add that I like Callie. I really sympathized with her when she and George first got together and the click wasn’t letting her in.

Hope you’re doing well. Keep studying hard in between tv shows and movies :)

  3. Jennifer, I was very much a late-comer to Grey’s–really only started watching it (on DVD) over the summer, but I was addicted almost immediately! It breaks me every time.

And I don’t dislike Meredith…I just don’t love her. But, yeah, I don’t care for McDreamy too much. He’s done too much to hurt my wonderful Addison. I liked Callie in last night’s ep. They’re getting some good interaction going between her, George, and Izzie. I won’t say more than that, since you haven’t watched it yet.

  5. Just finished watching. I really liked the way they dealt with bringing Meredith back–the whole after-life waiting room and then seeing her mom arrive. It made what could have been a really standard situation more interesting and dealt with relationship issues between several people all at once. I am so tired of the way ER does things, that I was relieved this was so much better than a typical ER trauma-one of our own might die show. For the record, I still watch ER out of loyalty to the days when it was good and because I keep thinking I can hold out till the end of this season.

  7. Yeah, I mean, I was pretty sure Meredith wasn’t going to die. The dead-voice-over territory is already taken by Desperate Housewives. ;) But as far as character development went (not only Meredith’s, but also Cristina’s and Derek’s), it was quite well done, I thought. And Denny was there! I love Denny. I watched ER for about a season or two somewhere in the middle–um, right when Maura Tierney started on it. Then I quit, and never went back.
